The quiet that we are experiencing during the global pandemic is something beyond comprehension, calming, surreal and profoundly unsettling at the same time. Besides the grief and despair that the virus creates I am fascinated by the response of the people on earth. Who would have thought that the whole world will shut down one day, close their doors and stop it all, EVERYTHING. To protect our weaker ones, our sicker ones and our older ones. And nothing, NOTHING in the entire history of humankind ever felt more like LOVE than this.
The pictures show a snapshot of my own reality. Being less outside, I can see the themes of my pictures changing. Clear skies, empty lakes, flowers and close family members become increasingly prominent. Details, which would otherwise be missed, continue to surface in my daily life. Minding these details is an attempt to stay fully present and focus on what’s ahead.
